Arcade Zoning Laws (Ordinances)

24 09 2009

Most arcade or family entertainment center’s success is dependent on repeat customers. However the popularity of your game room is not necessarily due to the layout or size, instead it is largely based on the location and market demographics. Game rooms that do well are generally located near high density residential areas, schools, malls or popular retail/commercial zones.  On top of repeat customers,  new customers bring in huge revenue to your center especially if you operate near large tourist attractions.

Now before we go any further one important factor to remember before you begin planning the construction of your facility is that every town has specific ordinances that all businesses must follow.
Local zoning laws, also called ordinances, establish what activities can be carried out in a municipality. Areas within a municipality are zoned for industrial, commercial, and residential development. Within each zoning type, individual parcels are subdivided into classes. Before planning construction, you should find out how your property is zoned and what your local zoning laws are.

You can start by checking out the Online Library of municipal codes in your area.  Once you have obtained local zoning approval, the next step is to create a detailed business plan for the type of game room you intend t o open. For more assistance on obtaining local zoning laws or help in picking the right type of family entertainment center for your business feel free to contact the Commercial Department at House of Arcades.
